Why nanoblock Is Cool !
If you are a fan of Lego, you will probably love Nanoblock. Think Lego, but waaaay lot smaller, so it's definitely not something for small kids. How small ? The smallest block is just 4mm x 4mm x 5mm. Here's a pic showing the various sizes of Nanoblock bricks ...
So, what's the big deal about it being small ? Well, for one, you can fit a few hundred Nanoblock bricks in your shirt pocket, and play with it at work ... Hehehe ... But more importantly, having smaller bricks allows you to build "higher resolution" models in small sizes, so you can create highly detailed models that still fits in the palm of your hands. Here's an example ...
Nanoblock comes in various small sets with instructions on how to build the design shown on the packaging. These sets actually comes with some extra bricks. In Malaysia, you can get them from Toys R Us, Action City, XL Shop, Popular Bookshop and Kinokuniya. The smaller sets with animal theme (mostly) are priced around RM30, while the bigger box sets with famous landmarks theme are priced around RM70. You will see them on display like this ...
If you want the bigger generic sets (NB-001, NB-002, NB-003, NB-007) that gives you lots of bricks, you will have to order it online. At the moment, it appears they are only available in Japan. I got mine from Plamoya.com.
You can check out my album here for my original Nanoblock creations, and do follow my Facebook page to get updates on my latest creations as well as build instructions. Happy Nanoblocking ! =)
